I look back at you with empty eyes
No emotion can be read from my face.
Who am I? No one knows.
I can be whoever you want me to be.
Faces twirl around me in an array of colors
Changing, blending, and disappearing.
We all wear masks, we all disguise our true selves.
For the good of ourselves and for the good of others we
wear these masks.
They are our protection; they make up who we are.
Sometimes we are mysterious, sometimes we are witty.
And sometimes…we take off our masks.
It is a rare thing though,
We only reveal ourselves to those dearest to us.
And as soon as we are surrounded by the world,
We put our masks back on.
We deceive, trick, and lure people into our trap.
We all wear masks, we must.
